Weekend escape

We’re just back from a beautiful weekend in Bruxelles. The sun shone, the company was wonderful, the food and drink was very much enjoyed (superlekker; tres bien!), strolling in the Sablon was lovely, hidden gems were discovered (Mercator  ancient maps exhibition at the Koninkijke Bibliotheek, amazing!) and the splendour of La Grande-Place was as magnificent as ever. It really couldn’t have been any better.

I’m sharing a small selection of shots here – I really had to put my phone camera to the test, as due to a packing oversight managed to leave home with our camera sans memory card.

Even so, this really was Bruxelles at its best…

  1. I can only imagine the drama that resulted from the absent memory, but thank goodness for phone cameras! Library + garden is not a combination you don’t often hear of. I wish it was though.

    • I wish it was too! Garden with library book though, now there is a combination more readily available (although maybe not as winter creeps in in your part of the world, and summer refuses to show its face in my current part of the world!).

Thank goodness for phone cameras indeed…. 😉
